Garden Open Day, Sunday, October 20th, 2024, 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM

Mill Pond Garden, the Cape’s mostly native, educational, only public botanical garden, will open on Sunday, October 20, from 9:30 AM to Noon to share the mid-autumn flowering plants especially featuring: camellias, chrysanthemums, asters, salvias, last flush of roses, and annuals, with scores of species of pollinators, along 2,000 feet of pathways through garden rooms with water features, koi pond, epiphyte garden, mushroom garden, abundant wildlife, especially birds, and excellent vistas onto Red Mill Pond. The garden has more than 550 native and non-native cultivars and species with ornamental woody species labeled that serve the community as an ideal resource for what plants can do very well in the Cape region gardens. A horticulturist will be on duty to answer garden and plant questions.

Mill Pond Garden is located at 31401 Melloy Court, Lewes, DE 19958. A ticket admits one car with up to six passengers, available at millpondgarden.com, or $18 cash-only entry at the gate, rain or shine (forecast is good). No refunds. Tickets may be given as a gift.
